All Saints’ Day Ritual

All Saints’ Day Ritual

Date

In the context of Christian spirituality, All Saints' Day is traditionally celebrated with devotional practices, such as prayers and liturgies, but some people may also perform simple rituals, combining elements of Christian faith and symbolic practices that seek spiritual protection.

What you need to have with you:

1 White Candle (can be a twilight)

1 Glass of water

1 tablespoon of Coarse Salt

1 image, medal or photo of a Saint.

Preparation

Choose a quiet place where you can concentrate.

Place a white candle, a symbol of purity and the light of Christ, in a safe place.

Have an image or print of a saint to whom you are devoted or who symbolizes protection for you (it could be Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Benedict, Saint Anthony, etc.).

Ritualization of Water and Salt

1 Consecrate your Salt, place your hands on the salt and say:

“Our protection is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. I exorcise you, salt, creature of God, by the living God, by the true God, by the holy God, who ordered the prophet Elisha to throw you into the water, in order to cure its sterility, so that you become exorcised salt for the benefit of the faithful, giving health of soul and body to those who use you, driving away from the places where you are thrown illusions, witchcraft and diabolical frauds, as well as every impure spirit, intimidated by Him who is to come to judge the living and the dead, and this world by fire. Amen.”

2 Exorcise the Water, place your hands on the Water and say:

“I exorcise you water, creature of God, in the name of God the Father Almighty, in the name of Jesus Christ, His Son and our Lord, and in the strength of the Holy Spirit, so that you become holy and exorcised water, in order to put to flight all the power of the enemy with his rebellious angels. By the virtue of the same Jesus Christ, who is to come to judge the living and the dead, and this world by fire. Amen.”

3 Mix the salt with the water in the glass:

Invocation

Light the white candle and make the Sign of the Cross.

Place your glass of water with the salt on the left side of the candle and on the right side the image, medal or photo of your Saint

Start the ritual invoking the presence of God and the saints and say:

“Almighty God, I invoke Your presence and ask that, through the intercession of All Saints, You protect me from all evil, visible and invisible. May divine light envelop me and protect me.”

Prayer of Protection

Pray the powerful prayer of protection Psalm 91, which is used to ask for divine protection:

“HE that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my God, my refuge, my fortress: in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

Aspersion of Ritualized Water

With the ritualized water from your glass, make the sign of the cross with it on yourself and then go through all the divisions of your house, wetting your fingers and blessing each division, asking for protection against all evil.

“May this water, blessed by God, be a sign of His protection, purification and presence in my life.”

Moment of Reflection and Gratitude

Take a moment of silence, meditating on the peace and divine presence in your life. Visualize a white light of protection around you, believing that the saints are interceding for you.

Finalization

At the end, thank God and the saints for their protection. Put out the candle with respect, without blowing, and keep the atmosphere of peace and reflection that you have created.

This ritual unites faith in God and the saints, with symbolic elements of light and purification. It is a moment of spiritual connection, asking for protection and inner peace, especially on All Saints’ Day.
